1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Lard
2 Eggs
1 Tsp. Almond Extract
2 ½ Cups Cake Flour
1 ¼ Tsp. Baking Soda
1 ¼ Tsp. Baking Powder
1/3 Cup Sliced Almonds

1. Cream the sugar and lard. Add 1 egg and almond extract and beat until smooth. Mix in dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

2. Divide into 24 balls. Flatten slightly and with thumb make a small indentation in the center of each cookie. Brush with the remaining egg and put an almond in each indentation.

3. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.
